Is the act of striking a right of conscience?

When strikes personally affect us we get a bit upset, particularly when it involves public sector workers in national infrastructure services. How dare they infringe on OUR ability to...get about, live our lives, do the things we want to do.

I see it from both sides, I should do, I used to work for the GMB, but the uncomfortableness of putting up with a day of travel inconvenience is pale in insignificance when a group of workers feel that strongly about a particular issue that affects THEIR lives. Not all strikes can be justified but hang on, is the right to strike a fundamental basic worker's right?
